CORONAL PRE-ENDODONTIC RESTORATION Article by Dr. JOSE PEDRO CORTS (Continued) Case 3. - Female, 59 years
old, with a very extensive loss of structure in her first right mandibular
molar (4.6).- Decayed tissues were removed, keeping all the structures
that were possible, even undermined enamel that had lost its supporting
partner, sound dentin.
Adhesive dentistry and dentin pins were
used in this case to reinforce the remaining walls, as well as to build
up the ones that were lost, in order to accomplish absolute isolation
of the operatory field (figs 15 and 16 a-b).
Gutta-percha point in figure 14 is positioned
in canal so as to avoid adhesive and composite resin flowing into distal
canal while walls were being rebuilt. Five years clinical and Rx controls are shown in figures 18 and 19.
